Projectile Vomiting

these pictures were taken yesterday afternoon when caleb was in a good mood. isn't he so stinkin' cute?! he's so much fun to hang out with.

so... on to the not-so-fun stuff... sunday night i was changing his diaper and all of a sudden he shot out a huge amount of barf all over his changing table and the floor. we checked his temperature and everything was normal so we kept an eye on him for the rest of the evening. everything seemed fine yesterday except he was a little fussy in the evening. then, last night as i was trying to give him his reflux meds, he projectile vomited again. two nights in a row. john and i were really worried. his temp was at 99.2, not too high but with the elevated temperature and two nights of projectile vomiting, we were worried. i called the nurse and she asked me a ton of questions. she said that if he vomited again to bring him in but if not then to bring him in the morning. the rest of the night he was fine so we took him to the pediatrician today. turns out it's just his acid reflux acting up. i hate acid reflux. he spits up all the time and gags and coughs and i hate it because i wish i could do something to make him feel better and i can't. my poor baby. the doctor said he will most likely grow out of it by 6 months to a year. i sure hope so.

Kim...Caleb IS the cutest thing ever!! Great little pic of him! I understand your angst with the reflux. Luke had it horribly too for his first year. He was on all sorts of meds and was so miserable for a LONG time. But he DID grow out of it, just as your pediatrican said Caleb would. By 10 months, we were completely off medications and discharged from the GI doctor! And no lingering problems since! It may not be much fun, but it won't last forever! Hang in there!
