Clogged tear duct

i noticed a tiny eye booger in caleb's eye this morning but i didn't think much of it. we went to our exercise class and when we were ready to head back home, i noticed he had a bunch of gook oozing out of his left eye. i thought he had an eye infection or something so i called the doctor right away. he wasn't acting like it bothered him at all (in fact when i asked him if he was okay he gave me a huge grin) so i wasn't too worried. i took him to see the pediatrician and the good news is that it is just a clogged tear duct. hopefully it will go away quickly - especially since he has his 3 month photo shoot scheduled this saturday!

Tornado warning... huh?

rain, rain, go away... they say a tornado is coming....
... so we go inside and i put caleb in his sling to keep him close....
... but he's not worried about a silly tornado. he's fast asleep!

we DO live in southern california, right? we don't have tornadoes! but sure enough, we had a tornado warning today. all of a sudden there was rain, hail, thunder and lightning! i heard that a small tornado did touch down but we didn't see it. we've been having such strange weather lately. just last monday we had triple-digit heat! and today it was cold and rainy with a possible tornado. go figure?

2 month pics & family dedication day

these are caleb's 2 month pictures! he changes every day and is developing quite the personality. for the most part, he is a very happy baby and loves to smile and he has even started to chuckle a little bit. i can't wait until i can make him bust out laughing. have i mentioned how much i love this little baby? :)

today was family dedication day at church. john and i made a public commitment to God to raise caleb in a Christian home, to teach him God's word and support his spiritual growth. john's sister took some pictures so i will post them as soon as i get them from her. God is good!

Caleb's Motorcycle

john's dad made this motorcycle rocker for caleb! isn't is awesome? he makes beautiful rocking horses but this is the first motorcycle. it's my favorite one so far. he also made us a gorgeous grandfather clock for Christmas a couple of years ago. such talent!! THANKS SO MUCH PAPA! i know he doesn't look like he's enjoying it much now, but caleb is going to LOVE riding his motorcycle when he's a little older. this is one gift that we will have LOONNNNGGG after he's too big to ride on it. maybe one day caleb's son will use it!

Happy Mother's Day!

happy mother's day to meeeeeee!!! i got my BOB stroller for mother's day. you would not believe how excited i am about this stroller. i already have the chicco stroller system and i love it. i have zero complaints about it and will still use it when the BOB isn't necessary. it's just not great for any kind of off-road activity. the BOB, however, is the stroller of all strollers. you can take this thing anywhere and you can push it with one finger. do i sound like a commercial for BOB strollers or what? anyway, it will make a huge difference during my stroller strides classes. i love it! THANKS BABE!

it's my first mother's day. i'm a real mommy. for a while there i thought it would never happen and here i am with the baby i prayed for, cried for, went through the ringer for... and he's here. caleb is only 10 weeks old and i already can't imagine what life would be like without him. praise God for blessing me with caleb. he and his daddy are the loves of my life. i am so blessed beyond words.

My big boy

this picture was taken last night before we put caleb to bed. just look at how BIG he has gotten! yesterday i took him to the mall to get his 2 month pictures taken and they turned out really cute. i'm supposed to get them in a couple weeks so i'll post them as soon as i can.

yesterday was my mom's birthday ~~HAPPY BIRTHDAY NEMA!~~ so we went to my parents' house for pizza and cake. we're having a BBQ for mother's day at my parents' house with my family on saturday, and then celebrating it again on sunday with john's family. we are so blessed to have our families live so close. i am so thankful that caleb is going to grow up having close relationships with all of his grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins. to everyone in our family... WE LOVE YOU!

Baby seat

he's a little young for it now but i sat him in his new bumbo seat today. he wasn't sure if he liked it at first but he warmed up to it eventually. he has a really strong neck and is really strong in general. i think he'll really enjoy his new seat in a few weeks when he's a little bigger.

He slept through the night!

we were out all day on saturday. first at a birthday party and then hung out with friends in the evening. except for a couple short naps, caleb was awake the entire time. he finally fell asleep in the car and when we got home we gave him a quick bath, bottle, and then put him to bed. he slept from 10pm to 6am! alllll night! i woke up about 4 times just to check on him and he was fine so i took advantage of it and got some sleep too. i thought it was a one time thing but we might be on a roll here. last night he slept from 10pm to 5am. he probably would have slept longer if i didn't pick him up when he started to stir. i was feeling very uncomfortable and needed him to drain my boobs. when he was done he went back to sleep. he's becoming such a good sleeper! great job, baby. keep it up!

He's 2 months old!

today is caleb's 2 month birthday. i can't believe he is already 2 months old! he's been holding his head up for a while now, making eye contact, recognizing faces, smiling and "talking" a lot! he's so much fun. i love being his mommy.

i went to my first Stroller Strides class today and it kicked my butt but i loved it! my friend Brixie is an instructor in her area's Stroller Strides group and she really enjoys it (and she is in great shape because of it!) so i decided to try it out. she even drove all the way out here to attend my first class with me. she's such a great friend, huh? THANKS SO MUCH BRIX!! it was a great workout!

even though i trailed behind the group at times, i was suprised that i was able to do as much as i did since i had basically zero activity on bedrest and it took forever for me to feel better after the c-section. i still have some pelvic pain and i definitely felt it today during class but i pushed through it. hopefully as i get stronger the pain will lessen gradually. it was good to get out in the fresh air and caleb seemed to enjoy it too.
