Naptime

it's caleb's nap time and he is crying and doesn't want to go to sleep. it's torture for me to listen to him cry. i just want to pick him up and hold him and kiss him and love on him and make him happy all of the time. i'll give it 5 more minutes and then i'm going to pick him up. if he were in his swing or carseat or stroller, he would be passed out by now. but put him in bed and he has a fit. he's still crying. i want to comfort him. i'm going to. gotta go.

******UPDATE*******
ok, i'm back. i went to get him and he immediately stopped crying. he wanted me to pick him up. i thought that maybe he had a gas bubble trapped in his tummy or something so i tried to burp him. he spit up and then went poop. so he was crying because he had a tummy ache. i feel like a bad mom for letting him cry for so long. not that it was a long time by any means but to me it felt like an eternity.

his acid reflux seems to be getting better but he still has some days when it's bad. today is a so-so reflux day. i asked his pediatrician when he will be able to stop taking his meds and she said probably when he is 6-7 months old. but we won't know for sure until we get to that point.

we went to stroller strides this morning and then to the public library for story time. he loved watching all of the other kids. he was looking at a little boy playing with a wooden noise maker and he was so intrigued! he flapped his little arms and squealed in delight. and to make things even better, we won a book in the raffle! so i think we'll start going on a regular basis.

i'm so glad he liked storytime...i thought he would, that smiley little boy! isn't it fun to win the raffle...leia won a book there once too. we'll meet you guys there next week...leia misses it a lot, poor baby singing the "monkey song", it's like "hint, hint mom". :)

I know it's hard, but us moms don't get it right 100% of the time (heck I'm happy if I get it right 50% of the time). It's so hard sometime because you want them to start to have some independence (putting themselves to sleep or whatever) but they still need so much help with... everything! It will get easier for both of you and you'll find your way together. Try not to beat yourself up. You are such a good mama. Keep up the good work and don't worry, he'll have his chance to get back at you by acting out soon enough. Too soon. WAY too soon.

How cute that Caleb likes storytime!!! Reading to them is an awesome thing- and now that he enjoys it, its a double bonus!

Glad to hear that his reflux is getting better. Usually they do grow out of that and that day seems to be approaching!

And been meaning to ask you? What is strollr strides? I'll go out on a limb and guess it has something to do with walking but is it like a class thingie?
